Starting off

Photography has been my hobby for the last 3 to 5 years. In this blog I want to share my journey through this exciting world and hope to learn a lot about it too. My aim is to keep a diary-like collection of my works and show the basic rules and settings of photography through the works of an amateur but passionate photographer. 

In today’s digital world it can seem for many people that photography has never been easier and more accessible. However, there is a lot needed in order for someone to become a good photographer, so their pictures will not only show something from the world around them, but will stand out and carry a message. This is what I'm trying to achieve too.

I hope that through my attempts and shared information I as well as others will be able to learn something new, or refresh their memories and gain some inspiration. I have been trying myself in various types of photographic themes, and have learned a lot seeing my own photos compared to others’. Throughout my blogging, I will post pictures from my previous and current works and attach some information about the technical aspects of the making of those photographs.

Currently I am working with my entry-level DSLR camera, a Nikon D3100. I love this camera because it is easy to operate, and I have the basic settings on it which enable me to get creative, even if it is not the most expensive, professional camera. Another type of camera I’m working with is my Olympus OM-10, which is an analog SLR camera (I will try and share some photos made with this too, if I manage to digitize them somehow). I am very excited about this blog and hope to get the most out of it.
